· Learning Development for K - Adult
In Learning Development, cognitive and perceptual skills essential for efficient and effective learning are assessed via the SOI Assessment. The assessment provides a detailed report describing each student's strengths and deficiencies. An individualized plan to develop these aptitudes to the levels that teachers expect is created based on the assessment results. Students participate in the program twice per week for about 50 minutes each session, during which time they complete a combination of paper and pencil workbooks and highly structured brain-based physical exercises. All activities are supervised by a Bridges-trained Specialist, typically a teacher or para-professional already employed in the school. All Learning Development activities are conducted in a dedicated classroom at the school.
· Learning Discovery for PreK - 2nd Grade Learning Discovery is designed to build the cognitive and perceptual strengths that empower students to transition from the concrete stage to the symbolic comprehension required by elementary school. Comprehension is essential for success in reading, language arts, and arithmetic. For about 20 minutes a day, students work on Bridges materials in the classroom, under the guidance of their teacher. Our materials boost sequential thinking, patterning, coordination, focusing and motor skills. All materials and activities are age-appropriate, and based on the best principles of contemporary brain science. · Certified Learning - Kindergarten
Certified Learning is a proactive response to No Child Left Behind. This half-day, 48-step curriculum is a self-directed program that allows each student the opportunity to demonstrate mastery in each of the three components - individual computer, independent workbook, and group-oriented instruction. Certified Learning has a built in management program to schedule all students and to individually track progress, record mastery or return students for more practice and individualized intervention if necessary. This program certifies the learner in preparation for the next grade level. Coming Soon: Grades 1 and 2.
· Summer Prep for Grades K - 6 Summer Prep engages summer students each day in a brief but systematic schedule of physical and content-neutral activities that nurture and extend the cognitive and perceptual abilities that are commonly under-developed among at-risk students. Summer Prep helps identify and strengthen previously unrecognized weaknesses in cognition and perception that can negatively impact learning efficiency. Program outcomes also include improved focus, concentration, comprehension and evaluation skills.
· A.M. or P.M. Learning - Grades K - Adult
A.M. and P.M. Learning engages students during or after school in both physical and content-neutral activities designed to improve the underlying cognitive and perceptual skills that empower a student's ability to learn. For about 30 minutes a day, 4 days a week, students will work on improving abilities such as attention, memory, rule-following, symbol-decoding, reading comprehension, arithmetical reasoning and cause/effect thinking. Additionally, A.M. and P.M. Learning can help reveal unrecognized cognitive and perceptual weaknesses which can negatively impact learning efficiency.
· Career Discovery - Grades 8 - Adult
Career Discovery presents each student with a measured profile of learning abilities which link to over 100 career choices. Comparing their cognitive profile with career-specific training needs, students are empowered to push to a higher level than might be expected. This can save frustration by steering students toward career directions where acquisition of training and knowledge may be most straightforward. To raise their profiles, students on the margins may undertake the cognitive-development activities of the Bridges Learning Development program, which is a prerequisite for this program design.
· Concept Prep - Grades Pre-K - Adult Concept Prep eemphasizes "concepts before curriculum" so that the learner can use core concepts as learning aids, not as learning obstacles. Through a variety of computer activities and workbook exercises, Concept Prep helps students master core concepts for each of the key curricula, thus enabling them to understand new facts, develop ideas, keep up with the regular classroom instruction, and perform better on high-stakes tests. Now available: Math Prep, Reading Prep, Language Prep, and History Prep. Coming soon: Science Prep. · Memory Matrix - Grades PK - Adult Memory Matrix engages each student in a series of increasingly complex memory exercises designed to develop memory processes correlated to visual relations, details and comprehension. These are common skill sets used in reading and language arts. Other supportive targets in the curricula relates to auditory processing for arithmetic and mathematics. Memory is the developed art of paying attention.
